In the most ambitious anti-absconding accused drive by Udaipur police, around 171 criminals were arrested who were absconding under various criminal cases of the district.

A special drive was initiated by SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal on the orders of IG of police. Various teams were formed in this drive and AdSP Anant Kumar was appointed as the nodal officer.

The special drive was initiated on 1^st September in which a series of raids were inducted by the teams in and around the district. During the raids, the cops succeeded in arresting 171 accused who were on run for a long time. These accused were under the charges of murder, theft, loot, illegal liquor smuggling, rape and assault, informed SP.

During the drive, 24 accused of east zone of Udaipur, 28 of west zone and 36 of Girva circle were arrested. Along with that at CO circle Vallabh Nagar, 25 accused, at Jhadol 7 accused, at Kotra 13 accused, at Salumber 5 accused, at Sarada 2 and at Rishabhdeo 31 accused were arrested.

Among the arrested were the hardcore criminals like Usman and Mudiya of Kotra village who were under the charge of murder and loot. On the other side, a wanted criminal Jittu Jaat of Jhunjhunu who was booked under the charge of attempt of murder since 2013 was also nabbed, SP Goyal added.

Goyal further informed that all the cops involved in the drive have showed impeccable efforts in making this mission successful and will soon be awarded by the department.
