Four people including two women and two men were arrested for trading an underage girl from Madhya Pradesh.

The accused are now handed over to Madhya Pradesh Police team who were investigating the case from last few days and took the custody of all four accused for further interrogation.

According to police, the key accused, Ramvati, resident of Damo Teshil of Madhya Pradesh handed over the victim, a 17-year-old girl to Rajni Sharma, resident of sector-3, Udaipur. Later, Rajni allegedly sold the girl to Naresh Dave, resident of Charbhuja, Rajsamand for Rs.70000.

Naresh did court marriage with the girl in Udaipur Court and after few days he left the girl to meet her parents. Due to extremely deprived financial condition of the girl’s parents, the accused were sure that she will never reveal what happened to her in Udaipur.

However, the girl first informed her sister and then to her father about the incident. Father of the girl lodged police complaint.

Madhya Pradesh Police in assistance of Udaipur Police arrested Naresh Dave and his mother Prabha Dave from Rajsamand and Manoj and Asha Sharma, son and daughter in law of Rajni Sharma from Udaipur. The key accused Rajni Sharma and Ramvati are still absconding.

Sarita Upadhyay, Dy. S.P Madhya Pradesh Police who is investigating the case said that all the accused are booked under Section 366-A IPC (Procuration of Minor Girls), 370 IPC (Buying of minor girls for prostitution (below 18)) and Section 34.

Upadhyay also informed that the victim girl belongs to a very poor family and used to do petty jobs. She came in contact with Ramvati who offered her good job in Bandhanpur. The girl was first taken to Bandhanpur but from there she was sent to Udaipur where Ramvati handed over the girl to Rajni Sharma.

After keeping the victim at her residence at sector-3, Sharma allegedly took the girl to Charbhuja, Rajsamand and sold her to Naresh Dave.

Police is trying to nab the absconding accused and also investigating to check if the accused were previously involved in similar crime.
