Two people have been detained under suspicion for allegedly stealing 1kg gold, 5 kg silver and Rs.30 lac cash from the house of a garment businessman situated at Ashok Nagar.
Two people have been detained under suspicion for allegedly stealing 1kg gold, 5 kg silver and Rs.30 lac cash from the house of a garment businessman situated at Ashok Nagar. The incident came to light today morning when the house owner, 75-year-old Dharamchand Jain returned back to his house from Surat.
According to police, thieves entered in the house through terrace and broke the door using tools. Interestingly, the tools used in crime were picked from victim’s own tool box. Jain expressed his doubts on someone familiar and demanded thorough police investigation. An FSL Team arrived at the scene and took important proofs for further investigation.
Dharamchand lives with one of his sons Rajkumar and his family. During the theft, Rajkumar and his family were said to be in Mumbai. Thieves stole gold and silver ornaments with lacs of rupees cash from three different safe but left one safe was untouched which had nothing valuable.
Himmat Jain, the eldest son of Dharamchand informed that they are three brothers and all deal in saree business. Two of them are living separately and Raj Kumar stays with his father and runs a saree shop at Maldas street.
Sources informed that one of Dharam Chand’s relatives stole Rs 1.45 laces from his account about five months ago and a case is also registered at the local police station.
