Two of the accused have been arrested by the Surajpol Police under the charge of stealing motorbikes. The police has also seized 3 stolen motor bikes from the accused and is trying to recover more.

Accused  Ansar alias Suno is a history sheeter and his aid Aftab were arrested from Divan Shah colony on Saturday under special drive  launched by S.P Ajaypal Lamba to catch bike thieves. Upon getting the information from sources, the Surajpol Police detained both the accused from Divan Shah colony and were taken to the police station. During interrogation, both accepted stealing a number of bikes from various parts of the city, said the police.

The investigation team received the clue about the theft of a motor bike from the victim Prashant Soni’s house in Choti Brahmapuri on 1st September. The police officials after verifying the clue, identified both suspects and later detained them. The accused admitted to have stolen Prashant’s bike. They also claimed stealing bikes from other parts of the city, including one from Gulab Bagh.

With the hope to recover more stolen bikes as well as to gain information about the nexus of two wheeler theft, police is interrogating the accused.
