Two goons of the city including a history sheeter were arrested by the police with weapons at Veshali Aprtment, Hiran Magri prior to the execution of their plan to murder a property dealer living in the same area.

The criminals were identified as Sharafat alias Kalu Kabadi of Kishanpol area, the history sheeter of Surajpol police station and Suraj Kashyap from Kota who has 3 criminal cases registered against him at Kota’s police stations. Both were arrested by Hiran Magri police and STF from Veshali Aprtment on Tuesday afternoon, SHO Chagan Purohit informed.

Acting upon a tip off about the suspects roaming in Veshali apartment with weapons in their possession, STF in charge Goverdhan Singh Bhati and SHO Hiran Magri with the team raided the area. The suspects tried to flee but were caught within minutes. They were thoroughly searched after which 1 country made pistol and 2 bullets were found in their custody. The arms were seized and they were booked under section 7/25 of Arms Act, said SHO.

During the interrogation, the accused revealed about executing a murder of a property dealer Lalit Jain before they were caught. They were being hired by Kalu Singh and his brother over a property dispute, SHO added.

SHO further added that the accused had informed them that Kalu Singh and his brother had a dispute with Lalit in context to a piece of land situated at Bedbaas area and had allegedly beaten Lalit who thereafter registered an FIR against Kalu Singh and his brother.

The police had arrested both who were under judicial custody for 7 days. After coming out of the jail, the duo planned the murder of Lalit Jain for which they hired Sharafat and Suraj for the execution of the plan.

As Sharafat is a history sheeter with around 32 cases registered under his name and Suraj who is also caught by the police; the arrest has been seen as a success by the police, avoiding another serious crime that could have killed a property dealer in the city.
