The father of a 25 year old woman lodged a police complaint against her in laws on Tuesday after she committed suicide by hanging herself at her house. The relatives of the victim woman claimed that she was allegedly tortured, both mentally and physically by her in laws and was forced to commit suicide.

The father of a 25 year old woman lodged a police complaint against her in laws on Tuesday after she committed suicide by hanging herself at her house. The relatives of the victim woman claimed that she was allegedly tortured, both mentally and physically by her in laws and was forced to commit suicide.

According to the police, on Monday night the parents of the victim were informed by her in laws about the mishap. Upon getting the information of the mishap, victim’s brother Manish rushed to her house situated at Sector 11, Hiran Magri and took her to the M.B Hospital where she was declared dead and was shifted to mortuary.

The victim had got married to her husband 2.5 years back and her husband use to run a shop at Madri area, police said.

On the other hand, the annoyed parents of the victim claimed that the in laws of her daughter induced her to commit suicide. They always used to humiliate her mentally and physically. The police got the reports from the victim’s family after which an investigation of the matter started, said police.

According to the mother of the victim, she allegedly blames the in-laws calling this mishap as a cold-blooded murder rather than a suicide as the victim was tormented by her in-laws and every time she were asked to get separated fro her husband, she used to defend the in-law family.

The brother of the victim while talking to UT informed that on the night of mishap, the victim had visited her parent’s house following an argument with her in-laws. His brother dropped her back at her in-law house at 12 AM and within a short while, he received a call from the neighbors about her suicide. He had to say that if she hung herself; who was apparently 80 Kg in weight, there should have been damage to the ceiling or fan but nothing of that sort happened.

The brother demanded thorough investigation of the matter as according to all her family members, this was an alleged murder and not suicide.

The victim had completed her B.Ed and was lecturer at prominent college of the city. She had received residential apartment from the college and was about to shift there with her husband in a day or two before this tragedy happened.
