Mukesh Kumawat, a 28 year old resident of Kumawatpura, Surajpol committed suicide by hanging himself, mid-evening today, 1^st February, 2012.

Mukesh, who worked at a cloth store near Town Hall, hanged himself by the neck at his residence, using a sari, today evening at 5:15.

In a heart rending incident, his wife Vinita, on returning home from her office – a broking house in Bhopalpura, found the door locked from inside and happened to see through the window that her husband had hanged himself from the ceiling fan.

Her cries for help brought the neighbours to her help; when they could not break open the door, they called the police.  The door was opened by the police and the limp but breathing Mukesh was rushed to M.B.Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Vinita and Mukesh, who were in love, got married in April 2011, much against the wishes of Mukesh’s parents as Vinita belonged to another caste.

Though the Police have yet to ascertain the motive behind the suicide, and have also not registered a case against anyone, it is alleged by Vinita that the mental torture by her mother-in-law had resulted in this mishap.
