Three people have been arrested by Surajpol Police for illegally possessing and selling guns. The arrest took place last night after receiving clandestine information of two men roaming in the city with guns.

The accused, 24-year-old Naeemudin alias Naem Khan, resident of Thokar Chouraha and 36-year-old Raju Khatik, resident of Goverdhan Vilas area, were detained by police and two guns, a country made pistol and revolver were confiscated from them.

On interrogation, the duo divulged the name of the person as Babu alias Sheru Khan from whom they bought the guns. Police arrested Sheru from his residence at Bida, near Khanjipeer today.

Police is expecting to get more information that could lead to a big network of illegal arms business that is flourishing in the city. While questioning, Sheru confessed of selling guns to many people; he used to buy guns from Madhya Pradesh.

Sheru Khan is a history sheeter and has cases of attempt to murder and assault registered on his name at Surajpol Police Station.

Additional S.P Tej Raj Singh said, “We are interrogating about the people involved in this network, there are chances of more arrests coming ahead in this case. Naeeuddin has a case of Kidnapping registered on his name at Ambamata and he was arrested in that case with Sher Singh, who has professional relationship with Azam”.
