In what can be called as the ‘last straw to break the camel’s back’, a complaint has been lodged against one of the area councilor’s husband for allegedly acquiring government land and threatening a family who raised a protest against him.

According to the complaint, Bansilal Meena, a property dealer and husband of Durga Meena, Councilor of Ward no.1 has allegedly encroached upon government property at Devmagri, Neemuch Kheda, which he tried to convert into a residential plot; although the land was part of the main road at Neemuch Kheda.

The complaint has been lodged by Tulsiram Gameti (30), brother of Inderlal Gameti who objected to the alleged land acquisition by Meena.

Yesterday, on 12th April, 4-5 people forcefully entered into Inderlal’s house and physically abused his wife Jamuna Bai. In the complaint, Jamuna bai said that they were asking for Inderlal who was not there at that time. “They thrashed me, my brother in law Tulsiram, his wife Rukmani and warned us not to come in between Bansilal’s ‘work’.

Out of the four assailants, one has been identified as Dinesh Meghwal, an auto driver, who stays at Devali.

The conflict between Meena and the locals of the area has been going on for the last few days. It turned ugly when few of the locals broke down the boundary wall of the plot acquired by Bansilal.
