In a major crackdown, the Udaipur Police has arrested four people involved in several cases of bag snatching over the past few days.

The arrests came to light today in a joint operation of Ghantaghar and Ambamata Police.

The accused, Devendra s/o Madan Lal Meena, resident of Karoli; Madhav Lal s/o Nathu Ghameti; Abhishek s/o Narayan Lal Garg, resident of Gorverdhan Villas and Dhiraj s/o Narendra Vasita, resident of Alkapuri were arrested and few valuables were acquired. All the accused are college students.

According to the police, they have confessed to snatching a bag from a woman named Chandrakala Pitalia and also snatching a bag from Arva w/o Mustafa Ali on 24^th March at Sukhadia Circle.

The police team, under the directions of Dayanand Sarang, DYSP (West) and information obtained from sources, the operation was successfully conducted. According to the police, they are trying to solve more such cases that have occurred in the city.

It is to be noted that Udaipur is witnessing mounting crime from the past few months. Snatching is one of the most commonly occurring incidents.

Not to forget though, that this is just one crackdown and there is a big gang of chain snatchers that is still active. Still, the success of this operation is expected to the ease the concerns of the common public to an extent.
