Four people were arrested by Jhallara Police of Udaipur District for carrying livestock for illegal flesh trade.

Two trucks carrying number of buffaloes were seized today while going towards Jaipur. The trucks were coming from Aaspur village of Dungerpur District. All accused are booked under Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act.
S.P Ajaypal Singh Lamba informed, “Jhallara Police received information about trucks carrying buffaloes illegally. Following the information, barricading was lodged and the trucks were caught.”
During initial interrogation, the accused revealed that each buffalo costs around 20-30 thousand rupees and the driver also receives commission for each buffalo which is around 500-1000 rupees. The accused informed that the buffaloes are delivered to slaughter house in Jaipur’s Ramgarh Hathwada and from there the meat is exported.
Revealing more about the illegal trade, the accused truck driver said, “We try to make more rounds to get more commission. Every buffalo has green and red tag on its ear which shows health condition of animal.”
Police is expecting to get more important information about the illegal trade during interrogation.
