Surajpol police has succeeded in nabbing a suspected gang involved in motorcycle thefts. Four people including two minor boys are arrested and 8 motorcycles were recovered from them. Suspects have confessed of stealing nearly 25 bikes, most of the bikes are stolen from Udaipur and Chittorgarh.

The key accused Vasim Khan (22), resident of Patel Circle an automobile mechanic and his associate Gopal Meghwal (32) resident of Titardi confessed committing the crimes with the help of two minor boys.

Police has informed that Vasim with the help of minor boys used to steal vehicles and Gopal further assist in selling those vehicles in market.

The accused were nabbed after days of thorough vigilance and investigation conducted by police team under the direction of S.P Mahesh Goyal. Police closely watched movements of suspects and gathered information through strong network.

Several people who were previously involved in such crime were detained by the police. Finally the first accused Vasim was identified and arrested. Soon Gopal and two minor boys were also caught by the investigation team.

In the initial police interrogation, Gopal informed that he first met Vasim at a Mechanic shop and both became friends. Soon they planned to steal bikes and sold in good price. Vasim hired two boys who used to work on puncture shop and the gang started stealing bikes parked in deserted areas.

1. Hero Honda Deluxe stolen from 100 feet road, Savina.

2. 2 Hero Honda Splendor stolen from M.B hospital premises.

3. 6 Bikes stolen from Gulab Bagh.

4. 2 bikes from Rani Road.

5. One bike from Madri Road no.1.

6. A Pulsar from Chanderia, Chittorgarh.

7. A bike has been stolen from Police line.

8. One bike from Sukhadia circle.

9. Bajaj Platina from town hall area.

10. One bike from Shakti Nagar area.

11. One from Bhuwana area.

12. One from town hall.

While informing about their way of working, Vasim said that they use to keep eye on such vehicles that were parked in a lonely place and by taking the advantage of the situation they unlock bikes with the help of a master keys.

The police team consists of Fatah Singh ASI, Mohammad Athar. Constl,Ganesh Singh Constable, Fatah Singh Constable, Govind Singh and Shyam Sunder Constable of Surajpol police station.

Correction

Due to mistake in the official press note, we have previously written 25 bikes recovered from the suspected thieves. But that was wrongly written and we apologize for that. Police have recovered 8 motorbikes from the suspects and during interrogation, the suspects confessed of committing 25 thefts.
