More than half a dozen people were reportedly injured in an assault soon after the chhadi procession concluded today evening near Paltan Mosque, Chetak. The brawl broke out when a few anti social elements were carrying away stand of Taziya; when stopped by people, they suddenly attacked with knife and sticks.

Police report has been lodged by Majeed Khan, head of Paltan Taziya, against a few people including some unidentified men. More than five people including women and children were injured in the clash.

According to Majeed Khan, around 50 people took Taziya stand from the Paltan Mosque. “When we insisted them not to take the stand away, they attacked on us with knifes, sticks and belts”.

“In the assault, many people including kids and women got injuries but only four people who got seriously injured went to the police station to register a case against the culprits”, said Majeed.

According to Police, Majeed Khan’s son Sarvar registered a case of assault against Mohammad Husain Kunjarwari, Firoj, Haider, Khalid, and 10-15 other people of Kunjarvari area.

According to Police, along with Sarvar Khan three other injured are Maqsood, Farid Khan and Abid Khan.
