A 40 year old man of Pratap Nagar area committed suicide by hanging himself in his room on Monday night when he was alone at the house. The man was allegedly an alcoholic and was staying under mental stress from last few months, police said.

The victim who was identified as Lehar Singh was staying near old RTO office. He committed suicide on Monday being allegedly under mental stress; hanged him from the ceiling of his bed room when his family was at relative’s house.

The family members discovered the mishap later that evening when they returned to their house. They immediately informed the police about the mishap and shifted the dead body to mortuary. The dead body of the deceased man was handed over to his family members after its postmortem.
