6 Metallic Plates forming part of the Pratap statue stolen

The contractors for the upcoming Maharana Pratap Smarak were in for a shock on 16th August, when they discovered that 6 Metallic Plates that were to be used in the installation of the 57 feet tall Maharana Pratap statue were missing.

The plates, as per the administration, are composed of 8 different types of metal, say the Police.

The contractors for the upcoming Maharana Pratap Smarak were in for a shock on 16th August, when they discovered that 6 Metallic Plates that were to be used in the installation of the 57 feet tall Maharana Pratap statue were missing.
The plates, as per the administration, are composed of 8 different types of metal, say the Police.
On 16th August, the contractor of the project, Rajendra Sharma, resident of Ashok Nagar, got information of the theft, which was executed on 15th August, at night.  On getting the information, Sharma immediaately rushed to the Ambamata Police Station and lodged the FIR.
The giant status of Maharan Pratap is to be installed at the new Maharana Pratap Smarak coming up near Tiger Hills.  It is a mammoth Rs. 100 Crore project, of which 14% has already been spent.  The Smarak will cover an area of 25 Bighas.
