Ghanta Ghar Police has arrested five people for attempt of theft in a shop situated at Maldas Street area of the old city. During interrogation, the accused confessed stealing dozens of motorcycles too. Around 8 stolen motorcycles are recovered till now.

Ghanta Ghar Police has arrested five people for attempt of theft in a shop situated at Maldas Street area of the old city. During interrogation, the accused confessed stealing dozens of motorcycles too. Around 8 stolen motorcycles are recovered till now.

The accused Prakash Vaishnav (21) from Mavli, Praveen Sen (21) from Kathar, Jitendra (32) from Dabok, Prakash from Maruvas and Bhawani Singh from Kathar were arrested from a rented room at Maldas Street. The room was taken on rent by Praveen.

The accused accepted that they attempted to do theft in a shop ‘Madhuri Dupatta’ owned by Nanak Ram Sindhi. During interrogation, they also confessed committing thefts of two wheelers from different parts of the city.

They have stolen dozens of motorbikes from many areas including Town Hall, Celebration Mall, Choti Boharwadi and even from Kherwara, said SHO Durgaram of Ghanta Ghar Police Station.

One of the accused Praveen is working in a barber shop and staying in a rented room. On 15th Nov, Praveen and other co accused allegedly broke the shutter of Madhuri Dupatta shop but they could not steal anything. Next day, the owner lodged complaint and during investigation, police detained the accused.
