An 80 year old man resident of Gariyawas committed suicide on Monday by hanging from the roof. He was spotted by his son and called the police who later shifted the dead body to the mortuary.

A retired electrician by profession, victim Mahesh Sharma (80) was staying with his family at Gariyawas. He was suffering from chronic respiratory problems and had been hospitalized several times. He remained tensed due to his health related problems, informed police.

On Monday evening, the victim’s son informed police about the suicide and a team of Hiran Magri Police rushed to the scene and shifted the body for the postmortem.

Police added that the prolonged instability in health could be a possible reason of the suicide, as learnt by initial investigation. After postmortem, the body was handed over to the family.
