In a series of attacks on woman in Udaipur, an 80 year old elderly woman fell prey to a similar incident where her body was found on Thursday night at her house at Peepla Bhatda village of Semari.

The unidentified accused killed the victim identified as Leela Jogi (80) by twisting her neck and stole heavy silver anklets and earrings that she wore. According to police, she was targeted by somebody known to her and created the scene of loot to misguide others and police.

Semari police team along with DSP Ashok Meena rushed to the scene after receiving the information and started the investigation. Forensic Science Lab team took the samples from the crime scene.

During the initial investigation the police found an empty pouch of liquor and utensils with rice in them. The police are assuming that it is a deliberate murder disguised as loot to mislead the police investigation, SHO Hazari Lal Meena said.

The victim Leela used to stay alone at her house as her daughter-in-law stayed in a nearby village with her family. But from past few days, Leela was sleeping at her neighbor’s place after her house was targeted by thieves last month, SHO Meena added.
