Anti Corruption Bureau has caught a Sahayak Karamchari of Ajmer Vidhyuth Vitran Nigam while taking bribe of Rs. 10,000 from a man against destroying the old electric meter reading. The ACB team caught the accused red handed and recovered the amount.

The victim Ramesh Tavad informed the anti corruption team on 1st January about the accused employee of AVVNL demanding bribe against not showing the reading of the old meter. He also informed the Bureau that at first he demanded Rs. 12K but later the deal was negotiated at Rs.10K, informed AdSP ACB Bhrijesh Soni.

Ramesh Tavad an agent of Adarsh Credit Co-operative Society and resident of Gameti Mohalla of Gayriyavas had applied at the Assistant Engineer of AVVNL’s office to change the electric meter of his house. The Assistant Engineer has handed over the work of changing the meter to the accused Jayant Dashora.

Jayant had replaced the old electric meter of the victim’s house with a new one but kept the old one in his custody. Few days later he started threatening the victim to add around 9000 units of the old meter amounting to Rs. 50,000. He assured him on the retrieval of Rs. 12,000 to him, he would discard the old meter and protect him from paying Rs. 50,000 of the bill, said AdSP Soni.

After getting the complaint of the victim ACB team including Virendra Singh Addha, Harish Chandra, Himmat Singh,Jitendra Sanadiya, Danish, Onkar Singh and Ram Avtar along with their AdSP Brijesh Soni started its verification and after getting it verified on Friday afternoon trapped the accused Sahayak Karamchari of AVVNL Jayant Dashora from outside the house of victim while he was taking the bribe amount, said AdSP Soni.

Soni also added that the accused is a resident of Panerio ki Madri area of Hiran Magri and had started working as a Sahayak Karamchari of AVVNL under the Assistant Engineer from 2008.
