ACB Busts Bribery Case for Issuance of Handicap Certificates

In a raid targeted at the Public Health Centre (PHC) of Jhadol, Anti Corruption Bureau Udaipur arrested a UDC Mangi Lal Meghwal with bribe of Rs. 900. According to the complaint registered by Pintu Lal Vadera, Mangi Lal demanded bribe against issuance of Handicap Certificates to Pintu and another handicap female Shanta.

In a raid targeted at the Public Health Centre (PHC) of Jhadol, Anti Corruption Bureau Udaipur arrested a UDC Mangi Lal Meghwal with bribe of Rs. 900. According to the complaint registered by Pintu Lal Vadera, Mangi Lal demanded bribe against issuance of Handicap Certificates to Pintu and another handicap female Shanta.

According to AdSP Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Pintu Lal Vadera, a handicap resident of Chokla Bara, tehsil Jhadol had registered a complaint on July 30 that he, along with another handicap female required Handicap Certificates from Jhadol PHC; the certificates were required for their respective jobs.

However, when the duo met UDC Mangi Lal, he demanded Rs. 500 bribe for each certificate. The bribe amount was negotiated to Rs. 400 each.

Thereafter, today Pintu approached CSC office Jhadol and handed over two Rs. 500 currency notes, the accused returned only Rs. 100 to Pintu and pocketed the amount. At that very moment ACB officers raided the office of UDC and recovered the marked currency notes, informed ACB.

Goyal futher informed that Mangi Lal is a resident of Mangvaas Village, Tehsil Jhadol and working with Public Health Centre of Jhadol since 2009 on the position of UDC.

ACB team is still at the office of accused and conducting their inspection.
