An UDC of Regional Primary Education Centre has been caught today afternoon by the Anti Corruption Bureau; the accused was detained while accepting a bribe of Rs. 4000.

An UDC of Regional Primary Education Centre has been caught today afternoon by the Anti Corruption Bureau; the accused was detained while accepting a bribe of Rs. 4000.

Madan Lal Paliwal, resident of Badgaon, was working as UDC (Upper Departmental Clerk) in the Regional Primary Education Centre. Paliwal was arrested today by the team of ACB upon complaint lodged by Goverdhan Lal Kamlia, resident of Dangio Ka Gura, a principal at Sipala Sen. Secondary School, Gogunda.

According to ADSP Rajendra Prasad Goyal, “We got a complaint of 6 Jan from Goverdhan Lal that UDC Paliwal is demanding bribe from him in order not to take any action against him, for the investigation undertaken at the departmental level”.

The accused first demanded Rs. 25,000 and later brought down the bribe money to Rs. 4,000 only. After receiving and verifying the facts of complaint, we prepared our team and caught the accused red-handed”, said the ADSP.

According to the applicant Goverdhan Lal Kamlia, “the case dates back to 2005, where I got indulged in personal matter of a then married couple. The husband was stopping his wife from appearing for exams and when I interfered in their hustle just outside the school, Amba Lal Paliwal, the husband registered a case against me”.

“Later, the case was also referred to Sita Sharma, DEO and an internal investigation was undertaken for the case. However, since then Madan Lal has been communicating with me on official medium and asking for several clarifications regarding the same case. And, also demanded bribe in order not to take any action against me”, said the distressed Principal

The accused has been arrested by ACB and will be presented to the court.
