Two senior officials of the mining department were caught today in alleged bribe of Rs.2.5 Crore in what could be said as one of the biggest Anti Corruption Bureau’s raid in recent months.

Two senior officials of the mining department were caught today in alleged bribe of Rs. 2.5 Crore in what could be said as one of the biggest Anti Corruption Bureau’s raid in recent months.

As per the initial information obtained from the sources, Additional Director Pankaj Gehlot (Udaipur) and Senior Mining Engineer P.R. Ameta ( Bhilwara) were detained for the alleged scandal.

After the sudden trap by ACB officials from Jaipur, havoc has been created in the Mining Department. ACB is now investigating the alleged relation of Pankaj Gehlot with a businessman.

According to sources, Pankaj Gehlot is positioned at the Mining Department’s Headquarters in Udaipur. ACB officials have conducted raids at different mining offices at Udaipur and Bhilwara simultaneously and started further investigations.

ACB officers also searched the house of one of the associates of Gehlot and seized currency note counting machine.

[Update]: 

Sanjay Sethi, one of the mediators of Gehlot has been detained by ACB after he was found involved in the matter. Around 5 teams of ACB Udaipur are conducting raids and searching houses of the accused officials and their aids situated at Pancharatna Complex, Bhupalpura and Sector 14.

According to the sources, a huge amount of cash has also been found from the house of Shyam S. Singhvi, who is one of the close associates of Pankaj Gehlot.
