Accountant Kidnap Drama ends, 4 arrested

Pradeep Bansal, a 40-year-old employee of Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic College was kidnapped today by four people, who released him after an hour of physical assault, robbing him of Rs.10,000 and forcibly made him sign a stamp paper before releasing him.

Responding swiftly, Udaipur Police caught the culprits within minutes after they freed the victim and obtained the looted money and a car used for committing the crime.

Pradeep Bansal is working as an Accountant at Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic College, Badgaon and also provides taxi service to tourists as a part time business. According to the police, the motive behind the crime was a prolonged financial matter between Pradeep and the prime accused Ali Sher Khan who is a taxi driver.

The four people arrested are Ali Sher Khan, resident of Pratapnagar; Pushkar Vairagi from Gorana, Ganesh Meghwal and Kapil Khatik from Bedla.

As per information provided by the police, the incident occurred today at 10:30am, when the victim Pradeep Bansal was going to Vidya Bhavan Polytechnic from his house at 15, Agrasen Nagar.  It was when he reached near the Field Club opposite Reliance Fresh, that a Tata Indica car came in from behind, stopped him and four people forced Pradeep to sit inside the car.

According to the complaint lodged by Pradeep, he was beaten by the culprits who also took away Rs.10,000 from him; later he was taken to the court premises where the kidnappers threatened him to assume silence in the matter and made him sign a stamp paper saying, “I am giving Rs.10,000 to Sher Khan without any pressure”

“They took me back into the car and started beating me again and dropped me at Sukhadia Circle; threatening to take my  life, if I go to the police” said Pradeep in his statement.

According to ASI of Ambamata, “the police was informed by a passerby who saw the kidnapping; acting on the tip off we initiated the hunt operation and traced the culprits while they were passing through Panchwati after dropping off the victim”.

“We reached through to the victim by the name and phone number we found from his isolated motorbike at the crime scene”, he said.
