Bhoplapura Police arrested a trio and recovered a bag containing Rs. 15,000 cash and some documents from them. All the three accused were arrested in relation to the bag snatching incident that took place few days back at Shakti Nagar area.

Accused Ravi Shankar Harijan (31) of R.K Puram, Gokul Village area, Jitendra Choudhary Alias Jitu (20) of Teej ka Chowk and Shakti Singh Sisodia Alias Dhanda (21) of Nada Kheda area were arrested by Police today under the charges of snatching a bag from a business man at Shakti Nagar area, as informed by AdSP City, Dr. Rajesh Bhardwaj.

AdSP City also said, “As the trio does not hold any criminal record at any of Udaipur’s police station, it was difficult to identify them and arrest them, but this difficult task was made easy by our DySP Goverdhan lal and his team including the C.I of Bhopalpura police station, Ratan Chawla. Cops of special police including Jitendra Anchalia, Yogesh, Itvari Lal, Bhudh Natayan Kamlesh and Narpat Singh collected facts and clues by interrogating tens of suspects and finally reached to the real accused.”

“Ravi Shankar, who worked as an executive at a finance company, previously was considered the master mind of the crime. He motivated the other 2 accused Jitendra and Shakti Singh for committing the crime,” said AdSP City, Bhardwaj.

He further added that in the initial interrogation it came out that accused Ravi Shankar had made the plan after he lost his job and also involved other 2 accused. One of the accused, Jitendra used to drive an auto rickshaw with his father and supplied edible items to the general store.

All three accused hail from different areas adjoining to Udaipur but they were staying here at rented rooms. Ravi observed the victim dealing in cash and 1 day prior to the loot he made the plan.

The accused also revealed that after snatching the bag from the victim, they distributed the cash amongst themselves.

The investigation of the matter is still on and police is hoping to get more clues about similar types of gangs committing loots in the city.
