Anti Corruption arrests man with Rs 10,000 Bribe

Anti Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested the aide of a Patwari while he was receiving a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant Roop Singh of Mavli, on the behalf of the Patwari.  In the interrogations the arrested man revealed that he was sent by the Patwari to collect the bribe amount from Roop Singh. ACB team has also seized the car of the accused Patwari from outside his office whereas the efforts to nab the accused are still going on.

According to the Additional Sp ACB Brijesh Soni the accused Patwari Jaidev Singh demanded an amount of Rs. 30000 from the victim against sanctioning the mutation of a piece of land owned by the victim at Mavli.  Later, on mutual consent it was decided that the first installment of Rs. 10000 will be paid by the victim on 17th August and the remaining amount will be paid later.

As per the deal the accused asked the victim to bring the amount near the Gudli Power House and sent his aid Bhanwar Lal Gameti to collect that amount from Roop Singh. Roop Singh immediately intimated the Anti Corruption Bureau team of Udaipur about the demand of bribe. The Bureau, after verifying the complaint of the victim nabbed Bhanwar Lal on the spot while he was receiving the amount from the Roop Singh.

ACB has also rushed to the Patwari office to nab him too but he somehow escaped from the scene, the Bureau team seized the car of the accused and is also conducting his house search, Soni added.

[Update]: The aide of Patwari Bhanwar Lal was remanded under judicial custody on Tuesday by the court. 

According to AdSP ACB Brijesh Soni, the house search of the accused is still going on. The bureau has written letters to the Bank for the verification of bank lockers and accounts of the accused. Besides this, the search for the absconding accused still continues.
