Anti Smoking squad raided various area of the city and fined people who were found consuming or selling tobacco products at prohibited areas and public places.

Acting upon the orders of Distrct Collector Ashutosh Pednekar, a team headed by Food Safety officer Anil Bhardwaj inspected most crowed areas of the city and took action against the violators under COPTA Act of 2003.

Program Officer PSI, Ashutosh Sharma informed that, the squad also spread awareness among people about the ill effects of tobacco consumption.

Anil Bhardwaj, Food Safety officer said, “With the objective of making Udaipur a tobacco free city, district collector ordered HODs of all government departments to actively participate in anti tobacco drive.”
