An assistant engineer of Public Works Department (PWD) Badi Sadri was arrested by ACB while taking bribe of Rs.1 Lac. The accused Kapil Sen, resident of Maldas Street, Udaipur demanded money from a road construction contractor.

According to Brijesh Soni, Ad.S.P (ACB), “The accused was posted at PWD Badi Sadri. He was caught on Saturday evening from Champalal Dharamshala with the bribe.”

The victim, working in a road construction company, Rajtak Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd (Pratapgarh) had informed ACB that, Kapil Sen was demanding bribe for granting permission for the construction of Kanod-Bansi Link Road.

The company got the contract of Rs.4.46 crore for a road project in Nimbaheda. However, accused demanded Rs.1 Lac to approve permission of link road and also threatened the victim to terminate his contract by issuing negative report.

Annoyed by the illicit demand, the victim reached ACB and lodged complaint against Kapil Sen. After verifying the report, ACB officials laid trap to nab the accused.

On 14th June, the accused AEN reached at a restaurant near Champalal Dharmshala to take the money. As soon as he took the bribe, ACB officials raided the area and arrested Sen.

ACB officials including Dysp Rajeev Joshi and his subordinates Harsih Chandra, Virendra Singh, Himmat Singh, Jitendra, Danish, Munir and Ram Avtar were part of operation against the accused.
