Udaipur’s Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a junior engineer working at electricity department AVVNL while he was taking bribe of Rs.15000 in return of providing permanent electricity connection.

Udaipur’s Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a junior engineer working at electricity department AVVNL while he was taking bribe of Rs.15000 in return of providing permanent electricity connection.

The accused engineer Anil Kumar resident of Pratap Nagar was trapped and caught red handed by ACB team on Monday 7th Dec.

According to ACB SP Brijesh Soni, the accused is working with AVVNL as JEN since 2012 and recently transferred to Hiran Magri Branch. He allegedly demanded the bribe from a resident of Sarvritu Vilas who has an under construction office at Sub city center Savina and wanted a permanent three-phase electric meter for his office.

The victim has applied for permanent connection and also deposited the amount of Rs.20000 with the electricity department on 20th Oct but Junior Engineer Anil Kumar purposely delayed the process and later demanded bribe of Rs.15000.

Soon, victim approached ACB and informed about the delinquency. After verifying the complaint, the team launched a trap and arrested the accused red handed.

ACB team consisted of Harish Chandra Singh, Jitendra Sanadiya, Danish Khan, Omkar Singh, Gajendra, Lal Singh and Muneer Mohammad assisted in the raid.
