Udaipur Police get succeeded in cracking a notorious gang of motorbike thieves by acquiring 19 stolen motorbikes and one auto rickshaw while 5 accused are arrested.

Udaipur Police get succeeded in cracking a notorious gang of motorbike thieves by acquiring 19 stolen motorbikes and one auto rickshaw while 5 accused are arrested.

The arrested accused was identified by the police as Thavra Alias Laxman Meena (22), Shanti Lal Meena (19), Rajendra Alias Raju Meena (20), Harish Alias Hakra Meena (18) and Laxman Lal Meena (20) of Sarada village.

According to police, the gang has stolen most of the vehicles from Jhalara, Salumber and Kaya areas of the district, police also recovered 17 motor bikes from the Semari , Sarada, Rishabdev, Salumbar , Hiran Magri and Zawar Mines areas as per the information of the accused.

SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal told media that one of the accused Thavra Meena is a notorious criminal and having more than 17 cases registered against him at various police stations. Another accused Shanti Lal is having 2 criminal cases while Harish and Laxman are having 1 case each registered on their names.

SP Goyal informed that since all the accused are between 18-25 years of age, they primarily used to steal vehicles to live lavish life. After stealing vehicle they hide it in an isolated place for few days before selling it in very low price to the people of rural areas.

The gang got arrested during the investigation of a case of 2-wheeler theft occurred on February 10th at Jhalara, AdSP District Chandrasheel Thakur, Dysp Salumbar Ashok Kumar Meena, SHO Jhalara police station Shaitan Singh Nathavat, SHO Salumbar Herambh Joshi made joint teams and started investigation.

AdSP Takhur got inputs about the suspected gang heading towards Jhalara village, immediately police conducted nakabandi and nabbed the accused

All the arrested accused has been booked under section 379 of IPC and the vehicles are seized under section 102 of Crpc.
