Pratap Nagar police cracked the murder case of a teenage girl by arresting her boyfriend on Tuesday over issues in relations. The 18-year old girl was found with her throat slit at debris near Rana Pratap Railway Station.

The accused boy was identified as Kalpesh Meena of Dungarpur who had an affair with the victim girl Twinkle since last year and had planned to marry her. He had suspicion over the girl having contact with other boys too and so when his doubts were confirmed, he decided to put an end.

On 14^th June, he took the victim to a lonely and vacant shed near Rana Pratap Railway and strangulated her. To confirm her death, he slit her throat 5 times and fled to Dungarpur, leaving her body behind. The next morning, he took bus from his village to Udaipur and arrived at his sister’s rented house, situated at sector 5 from where the investigating team arrested him, said Dr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, AdSP.

Police informed that the deceased body, after being found was taken for postmortem. A bag was found near the body with no mobile phone as she had lost it 1.5 months back. Police found books, cosmetics and a mobile bill with the accused name written over it in the bag. Since there was no sign of sexual assault, the investigating team considered it a case of alleged love affair. After the identification of the body, her grandfather was informed of the mishap.

The accused during interrogation revealed that he came in contact with the victim a year back in Dungarpur where she lived near his elder sister’s place. After a few months they started an affair and decided to marry each other as parents also agreed for it.

Few months later, Twinkle came to Udaipur for studies while Kalpesh went to Sikar to pursue B.Ed. kalpesh grew insecurity towards Twinkle regarding her involvement with other boys of his class. He tried ways to spy on her. When his doubts got cleared, he decided to end her life as he couldn’t accept Twinkle’s friendship with other boys.

On 14^th June, Kalpesh convinced her to travel back to Udaipur on his bike as he also had some work here. After entering Udaipur, he took the victim near Madri Railway track and taking advantage of the situation, executed the crime with the help of a knife that he had brought previously.

The accused was booked under the charge of murder and the interrogation is still going on.
