In an audacious display of discourtesy to religion and religious sentiments, a theft took place at the Moti Mata Devra temple at Thoor, Udaipur last night.
Ornaments and the temples donation box was found missing from the temples premises. According to the Police, at around 2.30am yesterday, thieves broke into the Mori Mata Devra in Thoor and looted Silver and Golden Ornaments along with the donation box.
The theft was worth over Rs. 20,000. Though this is one of the umpteen times that temple premises have been subject to burglary, it does bring in the requirement of standard surveillance procedures to be effected in religious sites, as they are more prone to open theft.
A case has been registered at the Ambamata Police Station and police is investigating the case.
