Burglary Attempt foiled by Electronic Alarm

An attempt of robbery at a deserted house at Shobhag Pura, Aashirvad Nagar was foiled by an electronic alarm system installed by the owner.

The home belongs to the family of Lokesh Shah, an Engineer living in Pune. He had installed a burglar alarm in his paternal house at Udaipur.

According to Vipin Jalota, his neighbor, the home was raided at about 3 to 3:30 after midnight. Nothing has been found to be stolen.

The home was raided last night and the burglars broke the lock to the main door but the alarm broke out when they tried to pick the second lock on the wooden gate. The alarm made the burglars flee the scene and a text message was automatically sent to Shah.

Another neighbor informed UT that this was the 3rd time the house had been attempted to be robbed.

Shah’s neighbors called him the next day to inform about the incident. He also made a call to Sukher Police Station later but was asked to send someone physically at the station to lodge a written complaint.

Shah told UT over the email that there was a problem in the region, there is a lack of police patrolling after midnight and issues with the street lights. According to a neighbor, the broken street lamps were fixed only 3 days ago by the administration.

His relatives have been informed and they’ve taken up the task to install new locks in place of the broken ones at the house.
