A man involved in a series of car thefts from various states was arrested by Udaipur’s Goverdhan Vilas police yesterday. The accused confessed stealing more than a dozen cars from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and other states.

The accused Punit Singh, a resident of sec 14, Goverdhan villas raised suspicious when a police constable Ram Swaroop was patrolling that area. Upon questioning him, the police detained Punit to the police station.

During interrogation, Punit was found to be the mastermind behind several car thefts. Singh informed the police that he had stolen Bolero, Thar and other luxurious cars which he had sold them for rs.40-50,000.

Punit, according to the police, informed that he stole one Bolero car from Bohra Ganesh ji area, another Bolero car from Ambamata and one Scorpio from Ram Ganj Mandi area of Kota district.

The police is interrogating the accused to further extract information about the thefts committed by him.
