Seizing the opportunity didn’t work so well for this thief, who stole gold jewelry worth Rs.2 Lac from a jewelry store. His act was caught in CCTV camera installed in the shop.

Police has started the search operation on the basis of the footage and expects to catch the accused soon.

The incident occurred on Wed, 19^th March at the shop of Arun Kumar Jain at University Road. When Jain went out for some work, a young man in his 20s entered the shop talking on his phone. He observed everything and picked few gold ornaments and left before being noticed.

Arun Kumar was unaware about the theft until late evening when he was showing jewelries to a customer and noticed that few items were missing. He immediately checked the CCTV recording and was shocked to see the whole sight.

Jain informed police that the items stolen were of Rs.2 Lac.
