In a shocking incidence that took place at Mahasatya area, a chain snatcher was badly beaten by the public while he tried to flee from the scene after snatching a gold chain from a woman. The injured was later rushed to MB Hospital by the police for the treatment.

The incidence occurred on Saturday morning when a middle aged woman Seema Rawat of Sector 8, Hiran Magri was heading towards her kids’ school on her scooter to attend the parents- teacher meeting. In the midway at Mahasatya area when the victim woman stopped to pick up her key chain dropped there, an unknown accused took advantage of the situation, rushed towards her and snatched a 10 gm gold chain worn by her.

Unfortunately for the accused, an auto rickshaw driver Muhammad who was passing by the area started to chase him. The accused was caught by Muhammad who beat him badly and handed him over to the public. Soon, a team of Pratap Nagar police station arrived at the spot and rushed the accused to the hospital. Police also booked him under various sections of IPC, said SHO Manjeet Singh.

Singh further informed that the accused was identified by the police as Narendra Salvi of Sunderwas area. The cops have also confiscated the gold chain from Salvi who is still under a critical condition and is receiving treatment.
