The chain snatchers targeted another elderly woman in sector 14, Hiran Magri in a period of one week. The duo of bikers accused snatched a gold chain in broad daylight from the woman, wearing it.

The incidence occurred on Wednesday afternoon when the victim Bhuri Bai was going to attend a marriage function at one of her relative’s house in sector 14. While she was walking towards the house, the accused came from behind and snatched her gold chain from the neck.

In an attempt to stop the chain snatchers, the woman received minor injuries on her neck. The accused somehow managed to flee from the scene, informed Circle Inspector Abdul Rehman, Goverdhan Vilas Police station.

Rehman further informed that the relatives of the woman reported the incidence to the police and soon after, the police team rushed to the scene. Immediately a barricading was installed with a few suspects detained for interrogation of the matter.

The investigation is in process and the accused will be nabbed soon by the police by taking the help of the CCTV camera footage installed at the nearby furniture shop, added CI.
