A 55 year old woman was the latest victim of chain snatching, when a seemingly young boy attacked her while she was shopping in the Dhan Mandi area yesterday.

The incident occurred when Sushila Jain, a resident of Ahinsapuri, Fatehpura was shopping for household items along with her sister in law Anita in the Dhan Mandi area yesterday afternoon. While she was busy shopping, a young boy approached her from behind and snatched the gold chain off her neck. Before Sushila could realise what had happened, the boy started running from the scene.

A few people in the area heard the commotion and started chasing the boy, who as per Sushila seemed to be around 22 years of age. The boy, who was only seen from behind, disappeared into the crowd.

Sushila immediately went to the Police station and registered her complaint. Her family members also arrived at the Police Station and a FIR was lodged. She had mentioned to the Police that the boy was wearing a striped green colored t-shirt. The Police launched the manhunt, and as per SP Ajaypal Lamba, a few suspects were rounded up for questioning.
