A case was registered at Goverdhan Vilas police station today against two men for snatching gold chain from a woman on the pretext of asking her an address.

The victim, Kiran Bansal, resident of Sector 11, Hiran Magri informed the police that on Tuesday evening when she was standing outside her house, 2 people on a motorcycle came towards her and asked her address of some place. During the conversation, the pillion rider snatched the gold chain weighing around 1.5 Tolas from her neck and fled from the scene.

The shocked woman started shouting for help but till somebody could respond, the accused fled away. Later police was informed and report was lodged.

Immediately barricading was done at all major circles of the city and hunt for the accused has started.
