Chain snatchers who had been silent for quite some time made a comeback today by snatching a 1.5 tola gold chain from a 45 year old lady. The victim made a valiant effort to nab the robbers by running behind them but could not catch them. Indra Devi (in photo above) ran for few meters but the crooks disappeared on motorbike.

The victim informed her husband and both of them rushed to the Police station. The incident occurred early morning at Town Hall road near Jodhpur Mishtan Bhandar. Indra Devi walks every day from her house at Dhan Mandi to Town Hall Garden.

Today when she reached opposite Town Hall, two men on a bike came from behind and crossed her. They then turned back and as they came close to the Indira Devi, the pillion rider snatched the gold chain.

Indira Devi ran to catch them but the robbers fled away. She immediately informed her husband Dao Dayal Mundra about the incident.

Both husband and wife normally go for morning walk together, but incidentally Indra Devi was alone today.

Surajpol Police has lodged a report and also installed naka-bandi but there is no clue of robbers.

According to Indira Devi, both accused were young in age and had slim body. One of the accused was wearing blue denim and carrying a black bag on his back.
