In less than 10 days, third incidence of chain snatching came to light where a woman was targeted by unidentified accused at Alkapuri, Ambamata on Saturday morning when she was returning to her house leaving her son to his school bus.

In less than 10 days, third incidence of chain snatching came to light where a woman was targeted by unidentified accused at Alkapuri, Ambamata on Saturday morning when she was returning to her house leaving her son to his school bus.

The mishap occurred today morning when the victim Mamta Sharma was returning home after dropping her son at the school bus. A few meters away from the house, an accused targeted from the back and snatched away her gold chain. In the hurried attempt, a part of the chain remained with the victim while the thief got away with the other half.

The Ambamata police informed that the victim filed a case against the accused and told that the thief was a thin man, wearing black t-shirt. Based on the information, the police launched barricading at Chetak Circle, Durga Nursery, Thokar Choraha and other exits of the city.

On 22nd June, Kalpana of Loha Bazar was targeted by 2 chain snatchers out of which one of the accused Sikander was arrested and his associate Akhtar is still absconding. Similarly, another incidence happened at Sarvaritu Vilas where the victim was targeted while she was purchasing vegetables in the market.

The search of all the absconding accused is still on.
