A clerk of a housing program (Avas Vikas Limited) Jaipur was arrested with a bribe of Rs.1500 by Udaipur’s Anti Corruption Bureau (Special unit). The bribe was demanded for returning the money deposited as an application fees for housing scheme.

The victim Tarachand Dhakad of sector 14 Udaipur approached Udaipur ACB and informed that, the accused clerk Naresh Kumar Jat is demanding bribe to return his Rs.18500. ACB Udaipur in association with their counterparts in Jaipur verified the matter and laid trap to arrest the accused red handed.

According to Tarachand, he tried his luck in Avas Vikas Limited and deposited thirty thousand rupees on his name and eighteen thousand five hundred on his wife’s name but the house was not allotted.

Umesh Ojha, ADSp ACB said, “The victim tried getting back his refund and came in contact with Naresh Jat who is a clerk at Avas Vikas. Jat demanded money to give the refund of the first amount of Rs.30000 which Tarachand paid. But when he again demanded bribe for the refund of 18500 rupees, he contacted ACB.”
