Gold ornaments worth nearly 10-lac rupees were allegedly stolen from a house situated in Swagat Apartment, Sector 11. Goverdhan Vilas Police has lodged the complaint and started investigation.

According to the report lodged by the house owner Deepak Turswani, he and his wife Mamta had left for their respective workplaces in the morning while their child had gone to school. Deepak is assistant professor at Pacific University while his wife works at AVVNL.

During lunch hours, Mamta returned home to find the main gate open with objects scattered around the main hall of the apartment. All ornaments, worth Rs.8-10 Lac, were missing from the cupboard.

Interestingly, the imitation jewelry which was kept along with the gold jewelry was left untouched, along with several electronic items such as mobile phones.

Goverdhan Vilas Police has started their investigation into the crime. It has been found that at the time of the theft, no security guard was present in the building and the building was not equipped with CCTV cameras.
