A resident of Umehra Village registered a unique case, wherein he accused a group of people to have forged his false death certificate and used the document to take his land into their custody. Bheru Meena, when visited the office of the registrar on February 2, 2013, got shocked to know that a piece of land on his name had been transferred to someone else’s with the help of a forged death certificate in his name submitted to the Registrar’s Office. He has accordingly filed a case of fraud against five people of a family, namely Ganga Lal, Gotu, Gulabi Bai, Shani Bai and Bheru Lal, all residents of Umehra. Bheru Meena accused that the group had prepared his false death certificate and by using it, they got his piece of land transferred. As per Bheru, his name is similar to the father of the accused family. Hence the name was misused. He further accused Verdi Devi, Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat, Kanpur; Mohan Singh, Patvari and Satish Kumar, residents of Kervara village of also being involved in this fraud, said the police.
