Drug addicts arrested over charge of Chain Snatching
Drug addiction once again proved fatal for the life and career of educated duo of Udaipur and forced them to take the path of crime. 2 boys were arrested by the police under the charge of chain snatching and were remanded in police custody for a day.

Accused were identified as Chirag Nalvaya a graduate of Mahaveer colony, Ashok Nagar and the only son of his parents and his aid Anubhav Parashar of Subhash Nagar. Both were arrested by the police for snatching a gold chain of 28 grams from an 80 year old woman Heera Bai residing at Bada Bazar.
Heera’s son Kailash Porwal on 2nd June had reported police that an accised had entered his house at 9.30 PM and snatched gold chain from the woman sleeping in the room. Before she could react, the accused had fled from the scene, said investigation officer Nathu Singh.
Nathu further added that the incidence was seriously scrutinized with the help of AdSP Dr. Rajesh Bhardwaj and team of cops. Some footage was taken from CCTVs installed outside a shop at Bada Bazar. The drug addicts of the area were interrogated and through them, the boy’s identification was revealed from the footage.
When his parents were contacted, police learnt that he was receiving treatment at a Jaipur based addiction relief camp. Soon the team rushed Jaipur and nabbed the accused.
Chirag during the initial interrogation revealed that he had committed the crime along with one of his associate Anubhav Parashar who hails from Tonk road, Jaipur and was staying at Subhash Nagar. Anubhav was later arrested by the police on Monday on the information of Chirag, Nathu Singh said.
Police also found that Chirag was a graduate and Anubhav, a post graduate who were prone to drugs and consumed brown sugar since a very long time. When they stopped receiving money from family members, they planned to commit loot to purchase drugs. After the incidence of crime, the duo mortgaged the chain at Muthoot Finance for Rs. 52,000 cash, Singh informed.
Police is now trying to recover the gold chain from the finance company and also interrogating the accused in relation to their crime.
