Two Truck thieves were arrested today by Surajpol Police Station on the Pratap Nagar Bypass, when they were on their way to sell their loot, a truck, at Chitrakoot Nagar.

According to police, Ansar alias Sonu (24) of Diwanshah Colony and Ikram alias Akram of Swaraj Nagar, both members of Truck Theft gang were arrested today from Chitrakoot Nagar.

They were on their way to sell a mini truck stolen by them, when police arrested two of the accused successfully.  Their accomplice Murad, fled from the scene during this episode.

Both Ansar and Ikram have a number of cases registered against them at Surajpol and Hiran Magri Police stations.

The gang came into picture during S.P. Ajay Pal Lamba’s drive against truck thieves.  This drive was executed under the directions of DySP Goverdhan Lal Khatik and his team members, consisting of C.I Buraj Singh Bhati and Abhay Nath Chauhan, Mohammad Athar, Fatah Singh, Ganesh Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Govind and Man Bahadur.

While the team was in action, a mini truck was stolen yesterday and the police got information about the Mini Truck last seen standing behind DPS School, Chitrakoot Nagar.  The Police also was also tipped about Ansar, Ikram and Murad being the culprits behind the theft.

As the trio was on their way to sell the truck, the police team setup barricades at various exits of the city, confronted the truck and successfully arrested Ansar and Ikram.  The third, Murad, also a resident of Diwan Shah Colony managed to flee.

During the initial interrogation, the accused accepted to have stolen a mini truck from Shastri Circle near Vishal Mega Mart, one Mini truck from Meera Kala Mandir, which was already sold in M.P and a mini truck from outside the Udaipur City Railway Station.

A team has been sent to the locations disclosed by the duo in order to try and recover the missing vehicles.

Modus Operandi

The trio has already been in Jail under the NDPS Act, as all of them are drug addicts.  They planned this activity when behind bars.  During their time in jail, they got guidance on how to start the crime and earn money.  The gang used to look for trucks which were left standing alone and then they used to unlock them using master keys.
