A case of drunken driving and interrupting work of on-duty Govt. officials had been registered last evening of 31 Dec. against a member of Muslim Mahasabha.

Usman Gani, resident of Hathipol registered a case against Mohammad Yunus, resident of Payda and member of Muslim Mahasabha for allegedly disturbing public peace and assaulting him while Usman was returning home last night.

According to Usman Gani, while he was on his way to his home on his bike at Surajpol chouraha, Yunus allegedly hit Gani’s bike with his car and in a drunken state started to fight with Usman. When a traffic policeman approached the scene, Yunus even argued with the policeman and interfered in official work.

Yunus was later detained by police and charges of assault as well as hindering Govt. official work has been placed on him.
