After a series of fatal accidents on the Madri Industrial Area Road No. 1, the infamous road is in news for other kinds of nuisance.

A police constable was allegedly beaten by two people on Road No. 1 of the Madri Industrial Area and were later arrested and booked under charges of obstructing Government duty.

The incident occurred yesterday when Prahlad Singh, a constable at the Pratap Nagar Police Station was patrolling at Madri.

When he reached Road No. 1, he saw two persons, later identified as Prakash Meghval and Yogendra Ahir creating a nuisance on the road and harassing the passers by.

Prahlad Singh noticed that they were drunk and proceeded to stop them. However, he was attacked by the two, after which the duo fled from the spot. Prahlad notified the police station and the two were arrested.

They have been booked under charges of creating obstruction in Government Duty.
