A 70-year-old woman was robbed by an unknown accused yesterday. The woman was found in semi conscious condition from a deserted area of Madar Village.

The accused robbed gold ornaments after beating the victim Vardi Bai, resident of Devali. The victim lady operates a public drinking water service (pyau) at Fatehpura.

According to report given by the victim, yesterday a man came to her pyau and took her to Madar by giving unknown reasons. Vardi Bai went with the suspect. She told police that, after reaching a deserted area, the suspect started beating her and snatched her ornaments.

The accused then strangulated Vardi Bai due to which she fell unconscious. Somehow local villagers rescued her and informed her son Narendra who took her to police station.
