Engineer arrested for Bribery
Udaipur Anti Corruption Bureau arrested an Assistant Engineer employed at Department of Medical and Health for taking Rs.14000 bribe from a contractor in lieu of passing construction bill.
Udaipur Anti Corruption Bureau arrested an Assistant Engineer employed at Department of Medical and Health for taking Rs.14000 bribe from a contractor in lieu of passing construction bill.
The accused, Kanharam Choudhary, was arrested from his office at Sector 9, Community Hall.
Kanharam had allegedly asked the contractor to give 3% commission for himself and 1% commission for his cashier Bheem Singh Meena.
Ad.SP ACB, Rajendra Prasad Goyal informed that the contractor has construction work of Primary Health Centers and Sub Health Centers going on in Villages of Bachar, Pipla, Jhoda and Jogivad.
According to the contractor, Kanharam asked for a bribe whenever he approached him to clear his bill. The contractor had also paid him once but repeated demand annoyed the contractor who approached Anti Corruption Bureau and lodged a complaint against the engineer.
Bureau team after verifying the complaint raided the office of accused and arrested him red-handed while taking the bribe amount of Rs.14000.
ACB has also started search at accused house and found keys of the bank lockers.
