A trio of accused who came to abduct a 6 year old girl of Kanpur village of Udaipur fled away from the scene after their attempt failed seeing the villagers coming towards them.

Panic prevailed in the Kanpur area on Wednesday when the news spread of the 3 accused who came and tried to kidnap a 6 year old girl of the area.

The scene occurred on Wednesday morning at around 9 am when the victim girl was going towards her school. When she reached few meters away from her house the accused masked men came in a pick up van, tried to drag her into the van but the other girls accompanying the victim girl started shouting after which the villagers came in action and tried to catch the accused.

Seeing the villagers coming towards them the accused left the girl on the spot and fled away, said police.

Soon the family members of the victim girl and other people of the village gathered on the scene. Later Lalu Ram father of the victim girl lodged an FIR against the accused at Pratap Nagar police station.

Upon getting the report of the victim girl, a hunt of the accused masked men was launched in the city and the investigation of the matter is still on, said Pratap Nagar police.
